We Reached Our Goal!

This year at Clarion Center for the Arts, students were given the opportunity to donate their Sparky Bucks (earned for working hard in class) toward purchasing a goat for a family in need. At Thanksgiving, all of our classes read Beatrice's Goat, a story about a young girl from an African village and how the gift of a goat help her family get the nutrition they needed, raise money for clothing and house repairs and ultimately allow Beatrice to go to school. We talked about the generational effect just one goat can have on a family like Beatrice's. Our goal was 1,000 Sparky Bucks, and this month, students selflessly met that goal and a goat was purchased through Compassion International. Way to go students!
